Convocation is the formal ceremony where Mount Royal’s administration, faculty and campus community join with family and friends to honour the academic achievements of graduating students. Mount Royal University holds Convocation twice a year: November and June

To quote Mount Royal University President Dave Marshall: “Convocation is, without any doubt, the best day of the year at Mount Royal. It's my favourite day because I'm excited to see the look on graduates' faces as they finally get to say: ‘I've made it.’ It's the day when we put aside our more routine concerns to honour our graduates in front of their friends, families and instructors for their achievements, which will enable them to advance into the next phase of their lives.”

In June, 2009, the very first graduates of Mount Royal’s own university degree programs crossed the stage at a Convocation ceremony.
