Jean Louise Chikinda (nee Andrew) This lady was a bit of a rebel.  She was called to  Dr. Kirby’s office for having led some of her classmates out to an unapproved dance and also because she wore a red dress to that dance.  Female students at Mount Royal during  the time she was a student, were strictly warned not to wear red lest it inflamed the passions in men!

While at Mount Royal she was on the bowling team and won the Latin prize for her prowess in that language. Hence :  I called the painting “The lady wore red”.I have attached  a  copy of the  original photograph I worked from to do the painting.

Her son is Marc A Chikinda,MA, LTC(Lon), AMRC  Dean, Faculty of Communication Studies at Mount Royal University.
