The Barn
Panel before

Artist Statement:
I selected this panel because of my interest in early architecture and Calgary’s history. Although not a barn, this building located on Mount Royal’s first campus received this nickname due to its architecture. The building included classrooms, offices, meeting spaces, a chapel, dining room, gym, and dorms. “The Barn” located in downtown Calgary, opened in 1911, and was torn down in the 1970’s.

Artist Bio:
I’ve been very interested in art since an early age. Although I have had no formal training, I’ve spent many recreational hours painting, drawing, and sketching to further develop my skills. I’m currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Mount Royal University.
