Artist Comments:
In 1967 off the West Coast of British Columbia, there was an actual sighting of a mermaid by passengers on B.C. Ferries. They saw her sitting on some rocks in Active Pass near Victoria. The Times Colonist newspaper at the time said “the mermaid had long blonde hair, the body of a porpoise from the waist down and was apparently eating a salmon when sighted.”
Who knows? Maybe she will pop up again, even if it’s in my own imagination.
