| Artist Comments: The cattle drive was an important part of Cochrane's early history. In 1881 6800 exhausted cattle arrived at the Cochrane Ranche from Montana. The first two winters proved to be unusually harse and 2000 head starved to death unable to get grass just inches below their hooves. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
